Scientific Programme

The scientific programme of the Swiss Conference on Disaster Health 2027 KATAMED reflects the interdisciplinary nature of disaster preparedness and response.

Developed in close collaboration with the Scientific Committee, it brings together perspectives from clinical medicine, emergency services, civil protection and public administration. The programme focuses on real-world challenges and promotes a shared understanding of coordination and decision-making in complex crisis situations.

Initial programme highlights include:

  • Preparedness and response in major incidents and disasters
  • Management of mass casualty situations
  • Interdisciplinary coordination between healthcare systems, emergency services and authorities
  • Crisis communication and leadership under pressure
  • Lessons learned from recent national and international events

Through a combination of expert input, case-based discussions and interactive formats, the congress aims to foster exchange across sectors and strengthen collaboration in disaster medicine.

Further details on sessions, speakers and the full programme will be published from summer 2026 onwards.
